    The Role

    Employees carry out diagnostic procedures, service, repair and overhaul of diesel engines and associated components. They also repair and service cooling systems, diesel fuel systems and emission control systems and perform welding procedures.

    The course is a Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology – AUR31512. Here are some of the things you will learn: –

    • Monitor environmental and sustainability best practice in the automotive mechanical industry
    • Apply safe working practices in an automotive workplace
    • Test and repair basic electrical circuits
    • Test, service and charge batteries
    • Repair engines and associated engine components (heavy vehicle)
    • Carry out servicing operations
    • Carry out diagnostic procedures
    • Inspect and service engines
    • Repair diesel fuel injection systems
