Does the idea of working in an office bore you? Do you prefer working outdoors, and prefer to make use of your hands working in a physical role? If so, a Civil Construction Apprenticeship might be for you.
Undertaking this three-year apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to become a qualified Civil Plant Operator and earn your Certificate III in Civil Construction - Plant operation (RII30815).
You will develop the skills needed to work safely with a range of equipment including excavators, front end loaders, water carts and haul trucks to carry our civil works such as digging trenches and excavate bulk earthworks using an excavator, and conduct pipe laying and paving operations.
This position is located in Rockhampton, however expect to travel to regional western areas and as far south as Gladstone. You will be hosted with a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads providing transport infrastructure solutions across Queensland.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
Were looking for someone with a genuine interest in starting a career in the civil construction industry. You need to be comfortable working outside and getting your hands dirty, have a stable employment history and have completed a minimum of Year 10 while being able to demonstrate maturity and a safety first attitude.
Manual Drivers license and own transport
Previous laboring or outdoor work experience
Be comfortable travelling and working in outdoor conditions
