Career Objectives
Career Objectives
A career objective can explain to an employer what you are looking for in a job. It is also the first thing that an employer will see of your ApprenticeshipCentral profile so a good objective could mean the difference between getting the interview and being passed over for someone else.
You can choose to write it to be specific for each job you apply for or it can be more general, however remember to make it honest and personal so that an employer will take notice and recognise that you have thought about this carefully. It doesn’t have to be your life story though, keep it short and sweet, two or three sentences are more than enough.
Career objective example:
“I am an enthusiastic and driven person wanting to begin an apprenticeship in Carpentry. I enjoy being creative and working outdoors. In the future I would like to own my own business selling handcrafted furniture.”
Still not sure what to write? Feel free to use the following sentence starters and complete them in your own words.
I am looking for work as…..
I enjoy work that is…..
In the future I want to…..
