Mental Health Support Workers work with individuals who experience mental distress and their families, carers and friends.  Mental Health Support workers assist individuals to identify their strengths and enhance their skills and encourage participation in a range of activities, events and programs.  They may also work with groups and conduct outreach assistance that enables management of an individual’s daily activities and connection with the local community.
