Community liaison officers work with communities and the state or territory police forces in order to establish and maintain positive relationships.

Workers with the Police Liaison qualification may be responsible for the following tasks:

• Establishing good relationships between police and local communities
• Helping work out disputes involving police and communities
• Advising and educating Police Officers on cross-cultural awareness
• Improving community knowledge about policing services and issues involving law
