    A qualification in Floor Technology provides the skills and knowledge needed to prepare floors and install carpet and timber floors.

    Duties performed by a Floor Technology worker may include:

    • Clearing floors of grime and dirt and making sure they are dry and firm before laying carpet or flooring
    • Fixing underlays, such as rubber or felt
    • Cutting carpet to fit into corners and doorways
    • Staining and finishing timber floors
    • Estimating the amount of floor coverings needed for projects.
