A qualification in Gas Industry Field Operations provides skills and knowledge needed to undertake Gas Industry field work.  This includes working in industrial, commercial and rural environments on pipelines, control centres and associated facilities and equipment.

Duties performed by a Gas Industry Field Operations Apprentice may include:

• Operating machinery used to pump and transfer gas between wellheads, rifineries and storage facilities.
• Collecting samples to determine quality and keeping records of findings
• Controlling the strength of flow through pipelines
• Using diagnostic tools and reasoning to determine any faults and to insure that system maintain required levels of performance
