Mentoring for Employers
The Australian Government recognises that sometimes apprentices and trainees struggle with obstacles in their personal life or they don’t know how to cope with work related issues they’re facing. To help both the employee and employer, the Government created an In-Training Mentoring program to give apprentices the resources and tools to overcome issues that may affect their ability to stay in work.
In-Training Mentoring has proven to help;
- increase staff retention rates
- lower staff turnover
- keep your apprentices on the job.
As an employer, working, training and supporting the growth of another person can be challenging. Mentors can assist you to manage your expectations of your employee and help identify issues before they negatively affect your apprentice, yourself and other employees.
The program also helps employers get started with a training provider and assists with paperwork for claims and incentives.
