This qualification allows the trainee to perform duties as an Optical Dispenser in a retail environment.  Optical Dispenser Trainees will develop the skills needed to select and fit lenses from a prescription.

Duties performed by an Optical Dispenser include:

• Designing lenses and judging the thickness
• Designing spherical and astigmatic lenses
• Edging and fitting lenses.
