A qualification as a Painter and Decorator provides the skills and knowledge needed to paint, wallpaper and varnish various surfaces in both residential and commercial environments.

Duties performed by a Painter and Decorator apprentice may include:

• Cleaning areas for painting
• Removing old wallpaper or paint using various equipment, including sanders, heat guns and scrapers
• Covering chosen area using spray paint, brush paint, varnish, wallpaper and other decorative finishes.
