People who qualify as a Pharmacy Assistant will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to assist in preparing medicines, advising customers on non-medicinal products and assisting with stock control.

Duties performed by a Pharmacy Assistant include:

• Bringing prescriptions to the pharmacist
• Assisting the Pharmacist in preparing medicines
• Selecting stock and attaching cautionary labels for the benefit of clients
•  putting medication into administration containers
•  using computers for routine maintenance procedures
•  Carrying out customer service duties, such as answering enquiries and advising customers on appropriate products for use in relation to certain health-related conditions
