A qualification as a Plumber provides the skills and knowledge needed to install, repair and maintain pipes and other plumbing fixtures.

Duties performed by a Plumber may include:

• Installing equipment, including boilers, chillers, pumps, heating and cooling systems, gas appliances, water tanks, water heaters and other fixtures
• Studying plans and deciding the amount of materials needed and preparing the layout of plumbing
• Cutting, bending and threading pipes using a number of techniques and machinery
• Performing maintenance and repairs on existing plumbing systems
