A qualification as a Polymer Process Technician will provide skills and knowledge needed to take responsibility for quality production, choice and application of a range of polymers and additives to produce a wide range of products.

Duties performed by a Polymer Processing Technician may include:

• Deciding what duties need to be performed and assigning staff appropriately
• Preparing and measuring raw materials to predetermined requirements
• Operating machinery and equipment related to the process
• Diagnosing problems and finding faults using both computer diagnostic tools and practical means
• Feeding raw material and processing agents into plant machinery
• Maintaining a clean work environment as well as machinery and equipment
