To whom this may concern.
I wish to submit my application for any Apprentice positions that may be available within your organization. I am an honest and reliable person, who displays a positive attitude, in conjunction to having very strong work ethics. I am currently looking to gain training and experience, preferably in an apprentice position, as a Boiler Maker/Welder.
I am young, fit and willing to undertake any training that may help me gain employment. I feel I have shown this through my successful completion of a Certificate II Engineering Pathways, achieved during my final two years of study. I have also continued furthering my understanding and education in this area by working as a Trade Assistant with a business that specializes in metal fabrication and construction. I hold a valid driving license, have a current Police Clearance as well as a forklift license and am hoping to complete my white card soon.
Currently I am employed with Reels Boats and Maintenance, I have been here for nearly 18 months and began directly after finishing high school. The current owners of this business are wanting to sell. During this time the duties performed by myself have been as follows: Acid washing, operating a forklift, maintenance and cleaning of work shop, Tacking, sharpening drill bits, cutting materials, pressure testing, Aluminum welding both MIG and TIG, stainless steel welding both MIG and TIG, tube and plate bending, grinding, weld prepping, cutting plates using the guillotine amongst other duties.
I am driven and eager to gain the appropriate qualifications and want to continue to work within this industry. I am a motivated person with good team interpersonal skills, coupled with strong work ethics and am willing to travel or relocate, if needed, to gain employment. I have a flexible attitude that I believe makes me a suitable candidate to be considered for any employment opportunities that are available or may arise with in your organization.
Really wanting to do this trade as a career, but I am continually finding that I am being branded with the young persons sterotype, They can't handle non airconditioning, can't handle being abused, yelled at reprimanded. They're lazy, pull sickies or just not driven enough, maturity maybe?
Whatever it is, I'm not it. I don't do drugs, I don't party hard, I haven't had a sick day for well over a year and a half, I am not lazy. I have been nailed to the wall for some mistakes I have made at work and yes I may have had a sulked for a bit but I got over it and aimed to improve.
I ask that you please don't put me in the too young bracket, because I really want this.
I am dedicated to learning this trade and understand that it will require from me drive, tenacity, persistence and effort for the entirety of the 4 years required to qualify and promise I intend to give it my all. I really want a chance to prove myself to you as a quality worker.
I am interested in bike riding, the gym, camping, and 4WDriving and enjoy working on my car. I am very much an outdoors and hands on person and continue to stay as active as possible.
I look forward to discussing my attributes and desire for employment further with you should the opportunity arise.
Regards
Jordon Brice
