Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics assemble, install, service and repair refrigeration and air conditioning systems in a number of different environments.

They may be responsible for the following tasks:

• Installing and maintaining refrigeration and air conditioning equipment

• Installing mounting brackets and cutting, bending and threading piping

•Attaching piping to refrigeration systems

•Working with electricians, pipe fitters and carpenters to install ducting for air conditioning

•Testing systems for leaks and then filling them with refrigerant

•Using computers to monitor building management systems and remotely adjust the operation of equipment all over a worksite
