A qualification in Security operations will provide the skills and knowledge needed to supervise gatherings of people and maintain security. It may also include escorting prisoners or unruly patrons.

Duties performed by a Securities Operations trainee may include:

• Manning entries and exits to a venue and regulating the amount of people allowed to leave and enter
• Escorting VIPs and determining risks in the environment
• Managing the impact of intoxicated people or conflicts involving numerous patrons
• Managing the evacuation of a venue if the need arises
• Performing routine checks of the premises
